Not long ago, I visited the Homestead in Hico, Texas. I was happy to come back to my shop with a handful of photographs. I particularly like to find photos of faces, taken in natural settings with ambient light.

To restore this photo, I dealt with two main issues: lack of contrast, and spotting. What were once pale and mysterious features became a lovely portrait, an heirloom image of a young woman, with character and beauty. I never restore a photo without ending up knowing the person depicted. In some way, they are brought back to life.
