For this poster, I looked at acrobats, like the flying circus acts, to see how the body arches and pulls its way through the air. The spiky hair was my nod to the bad boy, Peter Pan, and the color choices reflect some old postcards from the fifties.
I really did restrain myself from putting out something that looked like “Lord of the Flies.” But, really, isn’t Peter Pan a little scary? It deals with the abduction of children, the menace of a criminal overlord, the refusal to face responsibility by growing up, and then — as a final nightmare-making twist — makes little kids think the ticking clock in the dark of their bedrooms is a giant crocodile sneaking up for a gruesome snack.
